Overview
As an admin of your team you're able to add or remove members from your team.
You can even grant permissions to certain members if they want to help you manage the team!
Adding a member
Using the mobile app
Step-by-step guide:
- Load the mobile app on your phone
- Tap on the team (if your account is associated with multiple teams)
- Tap 'Members' at the bottom of the screen
- Tap '+' in the top right corner of the screen

- Tap 'Add New Member' at the bottom of the screen

- Enter the member's name and email address
- The member's phone number is optional
- You can select the roles you want the member to have
- Tap 'Add member'
Using a web browser
Step-by-step guide:
- Go to your team page
- Click 'Members'
- Click 'Add new members'
- Enter the member's details you wish to invite
- First name and last name
- Email address and/or phone number
- Repeat for any other members you wish to invite
- Click 'Add members to team'
Importing members from a spreadsheet
If you have an existing list of members to add to the team, you can import them from a spreadsheet while managing the team in a web browser. This feature is not available while using the Teamer mobile app.
Using a web browser
Step-by-step guide:
- Go to your team page
- Click 'Members'
- Click 'Add new members'
- Click 'Import from'
- Click 'Import from spreadsheet'
- Download the example spreadsheet (You can download this here)
- Click 'Okay I'm ready to upload'
- Click 'Upload .csv file' and select the .csv file you wish to upload
- Click 'Add members to team'
Share a team invite link
Share the team invite link with members
Step-by-step guide:
- Go to your team page
- Click 'Members'
- Click 'Add new members'
- Copy the team's unique tinyurl link in the 'Share a team invite link' section
- Paste the link in a group chat with the team's members
Members can use the link to register an account with the team. Once registered, the member's application to join the team will require moderation by a team admin.
This is because all teams on Teamer are private groups, but the team's unique share link could have been shared publicly, not just with the team's members.
Moderating a member's request to join the team
Step-by-step guide:
- Go to your team page
- Click 'Members'
- View team membership requests
- Each application includes the member's name and email address (as they have elected to list on Teamer)
- Click 'Accept' or 'Decline' to moderate the request
Tip:
- Admins will receive an email prompt when a new member has used the team's unique team link to join.
- This helps admins to moderate requests and engage with members promptly.
Please note:
- The option to use the team's unique share link is available using a web browser.
- This feature - including the option to moderate a request - is not currently available on the Teamer mobile app.
Troubleshooting
This section covers common troubleshooting queries:
- Unable to add a member to the team - member's details in use
- It's possible that a member may have an existing account with their phone number only or their phone number and a different email address (or vice versa).
- Phone number and email address are unique identifier on Teamer. A phone number and email address can only be associated with one account at a time.
- The member needs to access their existing account and update their details before the admin can add them to the team.
- Unable to add a member to the team - wrong country
- The country selected on the member's account needs to set to the same country as the team they are being added to.
- The error while adding a member implies the member has an existing account that is set to a different country.
- The member will need to manually update the country selected in their account settings before the admin can add the member to the team.
- I cannot see a member's request to join the team using an invite link
- Team Admins can moderate a member's request to join the team using a web browser. This feature is not available on the Teamer mobile app.
- Only team admins can view/moderate a member's request to join the team.
- Ensure the member has used the correct share link to join the team. Try adding the member to the team using their name and email address.
