Overview

Teamtalks allow team members and admins to keep in touch. A Teamtalk is an article/forum post which can also be sent as a message to members.

By default, all team members and admins can post a Teamtalk. This is a setting that a team admin can change when editing the team settings.

Manage who can post a Teamtalk

By default, all team members and admins can upload photos and documents to the team. An admin can disable this feature while creating the team or editing the team settings.

Using a web browser

Step-by-step guide:

  • Go to your team page
  • Click on the settings cog icon under the team name (towards the left of the page)
  • Click 'Edit team'
  • Select/deselect 'Teamtalk posts only available to organisers'
  • Click 'Update team'

Post a Teamtalk

Using the mobile app

Step-by-step guide:

  • Load the mobile app on your phone
  • Tap the team (if your account is linked to multiple teams)
  • Tap 'Teamtalk' at the bottom of the screen
  • Tap '+' in the top right corner of the screen
  • Enter the title and message
    • See the additional option to allow/not allow comments on the Teamtalk
  • Tap 'Create'
  • Select members you wish to notify of the new Teamtalk or tap 'Skip'
  • Tap 'Send notifications'

Using a web browser

Step-by-step guide:

  • Go to your team page
  • Click 'Teamtalk'
  • Click 'Add new'
  • Enter the title and message
    • See further options for email notifications, requiring a response from members, and disabling comments
  • Click 'Save message'
  • Select members you wish to notify of the new Teamtalk or exit the page
  • Click 'Send Now' to notify selected members
    • Or click 'Send Later' and schedule the notification to selected members for a later date and time.

View a Teamtalk

Documents uploaded to the team's webpage can be viewed by all team members.

Using the mobile app

  • Load the mobile app on your phone
  • Tap the team (if your account is linked to multiple teams)
  • Tap 'Teamtalk' at the bottom of the screen
  • Tap on the Teamtalk title you wish to read
    • You can also see/write a comment if comments have been enabled on the Teamtalk.

  • Go to your team page
  • Click 'Teamtalk'
  • Click on the Teamtalk title you wish to read
    • You can also see/write a comment if comments have been enabled on the Teamtalk.

Delete a Teamtalk

Remove Teamtalks that are no longer needed by the team.

Using the mobile app

Step-by-step guide:

  • Load the mobile app on your phone
  • Tap the team (if your account is linked to multiple teams)
  • Tap 'Teamtalk' at the bottom of the screen
  • Tap on the Teamtalk title you wish to delete
  • Tap the options icon in the top right corner of the screen (3 vertical dots)
  • Tap 'Delete'
  • Tap 'Delete' to confirm the action.

Using a web browser

Step-by-step guide:

  • Go to your team page
  • Click 'Teamtalk'
  • Locate the Teamtalk you wish to remove
  • Click 'Delete'
  • Click 'OK' in the overlay to confirm the action

Please note:

  • Once a Teamtalk has been removed from Teamer, it cannot be restored. The Teamtalk - along with any comments on the Teamtalk - should only be removed from Teamer if it's no longer needed by the team.

 

Troubleshooting

This section covers common troubleshooting queries:

  • I don't see the option to post a Teamtalk.
    • By default, all team members and admins can post Teamtalks. An admin can change this setting while creating/editing the team.
    • If the setting is disabled, only team admins and members with the Teamtalk Manager permission can post a new Teamtalk.
    • We advise that you contact an admin of the team directly for assistance.
  • I see the option to post a Teamtalk, but the Teamtalk will not be posted.
    • If you are struggling to post a Teamtalk, try using a different browser, device, and/or network connection.
    • Ask another team member/admin to see if they can post the Teamtalk on your behalf.
    • If the issue persists, please contact our Support Team directly for assistance.
